Plan and perform a first-hand investigation to measure the pH of identical concentrations of strong and weak acids
The pH of identical concentration of strong and weak acids can be compared using the following procedure:
- Obtain 0.1 M solutions of both a strong acid and a weak acid, such as hydrochloric acid and acetic acid.
- Use a pH meter to measure the pH of both solutions.
- The strong acid solution should be found to have a lower pH than the weak acid solution, despite the concentrations being the same.
