    • Paints are made up of two components such as:

    • Pigment – Coloured, colorless or fluorescent particulate matter (insoluble)
    • Medium – Liquid which carries the pigment
        – Typically clear and colorless

 

      • –  Binds pigment particles together

 

      • – Achieves better adhesion to surface

 

      • – must be viscous enough to prevent paint running, but not viscous enough to restric artist
